Talk about headlines that make an assumption: "It’s Not Just You. Americans Are Having Less Sex."

In the NYT.

It's a safe assumption. No matter how much sex you get, everyone thinks they should have more sex.

Yawn. Seriously: this is what passes for news in post-modern society?

I find it easy to believe that the sort of men and women who read the Times are having less sex these days I due to Trump Derangement.

No doubt there are exceptions.

Could be worse...we could be European or Japanese.

In Trump's America, sex has you.

No surprise this article comes out on a "day without women"

The sexual revolution was a double-edged scalpel, but was pursuit of pleasure replaced by pursuit of wealth, leisure, and narcissistic indulgence?

This will require further, long-term study, and models, many, diverse models.

Perhaps it's the result of cognitive dissonance caused tell-tale hearts beating ever louder. Kid karma.

Pro-Choice now. Cognitive dissonance later.

NYT, my un-favorite fake news and opinion provider.

Easy--the Obama years were so bleak that people internalized feelings of helplessness and as their debt piled up (especially crippling education debt for young people), their employment chances diminished, and their wages stagnated, and their ability to accumulate capital was curtalied...well, having lots of sex in the context of long term relationships/family formation suffered, too.
Or maybe it's tough to have a lot of sex when you're living in your parents' spare room.

The quoted study ended in 2014, so all of this is pre-Trump.

Thanks, Obama.

Maybe this blame "Russians" for everything has unintended consequences. If we could only go back to Boris and Natasha.

I notice millennials are having less sex than their boomer and even gen X counterparts did at the same age. The whole 24/7 porn thing has stratified them into professionals (with Instagram/Snapchat/Periscope accounts hawking their wares) and regular kids who are a bit intimidated by the body/sexual expectations. The girls especially want to stay away from anal, but now feel they have less recourse other than just to not have sex. The guys can go back to their professional outlet.

Lol, you got that right.

But there is one problem: Americans are having less sex.

Ah, "problem"? They never go on to say what that problem is.

Ah, why is it a "problem?"

Ah, it could be a Noun of the third type: A puzzling circumstance.

Ah, NYT is puzzled...

Ah...

I actually have a lot of sex. I am really good in the bed. I am not good at many things but I know I am good in the sack because my tricks always want to come back and back and tell me how good my large white cocks feel up their tight brown ass. They also can nurse/suck on my dick forever and I like that. I have previous tricks texting me to come over and I can't always remember which one it was so now I had added contact names to their digits...for example-Brazil Hot; Libya, uber driver, big dick, amazing body; Havard Black Muscle bottom; MIT undergrad from the Bronx; etc. I do have one, who is from Trinidad Tobago who has been coming to my house for a year and 1/2 every two weeks or so. His name is Jay. He is going to school to be an Orthopedic Surgeon. He is a bottom and he has actually spent the night and we ate together once. He tells me he loves me when I am in him and also says, "you know anytime you need it I will be here; anytime, just call, you know that, right? And I said "I know that."

Fewer people getting married means fewer people having sex.

For all this talk about a hook-up generation, and despite what you see on TV where the characters are whoring around with someone different every week, unless they are in a real relationship (and there is less of that too), once or twice a year would be scoring big for most of these single people.

You probably don't get much variety in Wisconsin.

Perhaps someday you will move.

Given that "you" is a NYT reader, they're probably right.

Predictably, this post gets the least comments of the day.

Maybe if reactionaries had more sex they would take it out less on the country?

Drago, I don't live in Wisconsin, you know that right? I am "from Wisconsin" but home is Boston.
thanks darling.

This is the usual problem at the NYT. The writers and editors presume that everyone else's lives are just like theirs. It is not.
